Episode 52: John Ratzenberger is Rachmaninoff?

Happy Monday everyone!

Todd Hartsell is back for another week of chocolatey goodness. In minute 52, David derisively responds to a comment that Mrs. Teevee makes. Wonka responds to a comment by Mr. Salt a little less derisively. Todd waxes rhapsodic about film making techniques of the past. The adults in this scene are being a bunch of Debbie Downers, which Todd points out. Also, David does funny voices, and, surprise, he screws up again.

We’ll see you back here on Wednesday!

Episode 51: Dodo Denney Is Knocking It Out of the Park

It’s FRIDAY!

Todd Hartsell is back for another episode. In minute 51, David consistently gets fooled by the optical illusion that is the small black and white room. Todd remembers the unsettling feeling of seeing it as a child, and David admits that there is a very claustrophobic feel to this minute. Todd talks about the way the scene is shot, and how it almost makes the kids disappear.

David always thinks the back wall is visible in this shot. It’s not.

Episode 50: Grandpa Joe Exposed

It’s Wednesday…you know what that means!

Todd Hartsell is back to join David for minute 50. In this minute, David mixes up soap catch phrases, Willy Wonka blows people off repeatedly, and Mike Teevee goes off on a tangent. David and Todd marvel over the performances of the child actors in this movie, specifically gushing over Julie Dawn Cole’s acting as Veruca. Also, David points out how in control Wonka is of everything that happens.

Episode 49: Like C-3PO Gone Mad

Welcome to a new week!

In minute 49, Jason is on vacation, so David is joined by Todd Hartsell from Minute of the Apes, one of David’s favorite Movies by Minute podcasts. David and Todd discuss the donning of garments, and the terrifying, if wondrous, sight of golden hands closing around coats and hats. Todd teaches us about the language of 1970s film making. David spends way too much time reading the small print on the wall sized contract that Wonka presents to the finders of the Golden Tickets.
