Episode 49: Like C-3PO Gone Mad

Welcome to a new week!

In minute 49, Jason is on vacation, so David is joined by Todd Hartsell from Minute of the Apes, one of David’s favorite Movies by Minute podcasts. David and Todd discuss the donning of garments, and the terrifying, if wondrous, sight of golden hands closing around coats and hats. Todd teaches us about the language of 1970s film making. David spends way too much time reading the small print on the wall sized contract that Wonka presents to the finders of the Golden Tickets.

Come back Wednesday for more Willy Wonka goodness!

Episode 45: Touch On Gene Wilder

We’re finishing out week number 15.

Heidi Bennett is with us one final time, and minute 45 finally introduces us to Mr. Willy Wonka! Unfortunately, he doesn’t do a whole lot except
limp down a carpet. So, we spend most of the episode discussing the career of Gene Wilder. We do briefly criticize Violet for chewing with her mouth open. And we also compare the outfit between the original film, and the tribute version in the Futurama episode referencing the film.

Thanks to Heidi for joining us for a great week of discussion. You can find her in the following places around the internet:

Episode 41: R.I.P. Chuckles

Welcome to the middle of the week!

In minute 41, Grandpa Joe continues to sing while bounicing off walls, throwing clothes on the floor, and never really using the cane that he had Charlie get him. We have a discussion about Grandpa Joe’s assertion that he is “slap in the lap of luxury.” David discusses Peter Ostrum’s singing, and whether or not his vocals should have been dubbed. Also, what would’ve happened if the ticket had not allowed an additional guest to come along?

We’ll see you back here on Friday.
